Pyro is very low stat investment, as it doesn't scale with stats (just with the upgrade level of your glove). Since Quelaag's Furysword scales with DEX, and you get a small cast speed boost from high DEX anyway, I'd recommend eventually aiming for 45 DEX (max cast speed).Spend all your souls on getting that flame ascended ,just level up so you get stats to use the weapon you want. You would want to change this weapon into either chaos or lightning also. You need to get the flame to +10 , kill spider bitch in blight town , then see the pyromancer lady that appears in blight town.
Black flame is crazy strong, can't leave that out of your Arsenal whether you do pve or pvp. For PVE, rapport and fire whip are very nice spells. The Boulder spell is good against shield using units but kinda sucks for pvp. for pvp, the title definitely goes to Fire Surge. I just finished Dark Souls 3 a few days ago and absolutely loved it.
